Change video format in Windows Movie Maker.?

In Windows Movie Maker you aren%26#039;t given the option to change the format to something other than .wmm which is useless to upload the videos that I edit in Windows Movie Maker onto a website. How can I change the format of the video that I edited in WMM?|||You have to save it your video to your computer first, and then it%26#039;ll work on websites.

In the, %26quot;Finish Movie%26quot; box, click on %26quot;save to my computer%26quot; Then it should work.|||mswmm file in XP-wmmakerr2, first the process:

Step 1. Capture/Import video files (+pics, music) to be edited

Step 2. Edit- drag/drop files-%26gt;timeline %26amp; enhance w/effects, transition, music %26amp; titles

Step 3. Finish (render)- save Movie file(.avi or.wmv), also save Project* file (.mswmm)

Step 4. Upload or Share-burn to CD (to DvD thru a DvD authoring app)

*.mswmm is the file extension (not a video file) of saved WinMovieMaker PROJECT file, a %26#039;work in progress%26#039; w/c archives links to the various video/pic/music files collected %26amp; edit history of the timeline. This is necessary so that if the editing process isn鈥檛 finished, the next session can resume w/ lastest saved *.mswmm file and allows for multiple re-edits until you%26#039;re satisfied. It is NOT a video file and is not valid for import or upload.

Save PROJECT is true for most if not all video editing app so as to have just a small file to save on valuable disk space when the pc is not used for editing. It is next to impossible to finish a movie in just one sitting, maybe a change of mind or multiple versions (Director%26#039;s cut?).

In Step 3, WMM allows the user to choose video format, name for the MUVEE file %26amp; folder destination. If there was no .avi or .wmv file after save/render, there are 2 possibilities:

1. Step 3- Finish Movie- SAVE TO MY COMPUTER (w/rendering) was not done鈥?OR

2. the editing process could have been finished but the MUVEE .avi or .wmv file could not be located.

If so, RE-EDIT, double click on *.mswmm file to re-open PROJECT. Complete 3rd step- FINISH/ save video - You are given the liberty to choose output formats %26amp; resolution; then you%26#039;re ready to test your muvee, upload/share. Don鈥檛 delete, rename or move any file used during edit so that the PROJECT links wud still be of value.

For Vista/wmm6, t鈥檌s similar: Import/ Edit/ Publish/
