How to I change my video format?

I have a video that i need to edit for Spanish class, and it is in a weird format (.MOD) and I would like to edit using windows movie maker, the file isn%26#039;t accepted. Is there a way I can change it?

Vista WMM supports video files asf, avi, dvr-ms, m1v, mp2, mp2v, mpe, mpeg, mpg, mpv2, wm,and wmv
