i have taken several videos on my phone, and couldn't figure out how to watch them on my computer, and i figured out they need to be in motion JPEG format for me to watch them. how can i convert it to the format needed?

i have this video which has been written onto a dvd as a VOB (i think...i have no idea actually)...when you open the dvd there is lk an audio file which is empty, and a video file, which has a few stuff and one of them when you open them is the video i want but without sound. however in the dvd player it works perfectly...how can i get it to work just normally as an avi file. i also want to upload it onto facebook.

Help! How do you change the video format on a video you have stored from Windows Movie Maker?
I have firewire and imported a video from my camcorder and saved it. I then am entering a contest and I need to upload the video to send it. (Which is why I got firewire in the first place) but when I go to browse to get the video file to upoload it, its not their, so its not in the right video file format. The page says it only accepts file formats: .mov, .avi, .mpg, .mpeg, .flv, .mp4, .qt So I guess when it was saved to Windows Movie Maker it was under another file format that it automatically has. So how can I switch the video's file format so it will appear in my browse on the contest page with a right file format so I can upload it? And can you do it with the same video you have stored on Windows Movie Maker and just change the file type or do you have re-load the video? Please help, I only have a limited amount of time left,thanks.Help! When you've downloaded and installed it, run it. Follow these steps to convert:
1) Click on ADD VIDEO
2) Go through your files, and pick the video you want to convert
3) Then beside the word profile, pick the video format you want. I suggest trying customized mp4 or mobile mpeg4. Try mobile mpeg4 first
4) Now at the right of the screen, you have to put in some figures.
5) First, make the stop time the full time of the video
6) Make the frame size the same as your original video (it shows near the top)
7) Video bitrate - Low quality: 128kb/s . . . High quality: 768kb/s or 512kb/s
8) Video framerate: 20
9) Audio bitrate - Low quality: 32kb/s . . .High Quality: 112kb/s
10) Now click on %26quot;convert%26quot;
11) Wait until it's done and now right click the name of original video and click %26quot;open destination file location%26quot;. That takes you to where the converted video is
TIP: Try not to have anything running during process, because the audio/video sync can go off
