How to change a video format?

I have a movie on my laptop, but I can%26#039;t watch it because it%26#039;s an mkv file. Does anyone know how to change it so I can watch it on Windows Media Player?|||you can use a video converter i use this one it works fine and you dont need to buy it|||You could try something like Media Coder:
