xoxoxChanging video file format?Try Windows Movie Maker. This tool is installed with Windows (build-in).

In this editor you should select some well known video codec, for example Windows Media.

Changing video file format?
YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats. The video files below are all accepted by YouTube. Some video formats work best and are most compatible with certain computers, software or devices.

Windows Media Video (.WMV)

.3GP (cell phones)

.AVI (windows)

.MOV (mac)

.MP4 (ipod/psp)

.MPEG

.FLV (adobe flash)

.SWF (shockwave flash)v

.MKV (h.264)

If you do not think your current video file format is recognized by YouTube, you may get the best uploading results from converting your file to MPEG4 video with MP3 audio.

I recommend 4Videosoft Video Converter Platinum which can convert between any video formats including MPG, MPEG, MPEG2, VOB, MP4, M4V, RM, RMVB, WMV, etc and extract audio from these video.

It also converts between all audio formats including MP3, MP2, AAC, AC3, WAV, MID, MIDI, WMA, M4A, RA, RAM, OGG, APE, AU, FLAC .

Hope it helps!
