How do I change a video file format?

So, I want to use Windows Movie Maker, but, the video files that come in from my camcorder are MP4 files which don't work with Windows Movie Maker. How do I change the file format so it will work with Windows Movie Maker?How do I change a video file format?I have good luck using 2 converters, both free

search Cnet.com for a mp4 to wma or avi comverter. you need a program to convert it.

lol...you need a file converter, i suggest Xilisoft it's the best
Windows movie maker accepts wmv video. If you don't know how to convert video to wmv video, I think this step by step guide would help you
