Sony Ericsson w580i-- changing video format?

I'm trying to make a video by recording stuff on my phone then transferring it to my computer and using the windows movie maker to sync the videos together. But movie maker doesn't accept the .flv format that the phone automatically saves videos as. Right, windows movie maker doesn't support formats like flv or swf. It supports formats like avi or wmv, this kind of video.
